MultiNetwork Manager 6.5
is the choice for people using earlier versions of Windows
(i.e. Win95, 98 and NT4). If you are running on Windows 2000 or later please
take a look at MultiNetwork Manager 8.
MultiNetwork Manager allows a user to create and manage location profiles
that facilitate network connections, computer settings and the launching of
applications and scripts. When moving around, the user can with a single click,
switch from one computer environment to an other. For each profile you control how
to connect, which network resurces to use, whether to enable VPN-clients and firewalls etc.
With the MultiNetwork Manager boot time application (BTA), you
can select a configuration already at boot time. mnm from GlobeSoft
is developed to assist users working in "Dynamic Networking
Environments".
It provides an easy-to-navigate-tabbed dialog window that is
used to connect your computer to different networks (e.g. ISPs
or LANs) or multihome environments.
The most essential part of the software deals with switching
network connectivity settings such as IP address, Gateway, DHCP,
DNS, WINS, Proxy (Netscape and Internet Explorer), multiple
Domain controllers and Network clients (Novell and MS). It also
provides other useful features such as NT security settings
for non administrators, map network drives, map default printers,
Outlook/Outlook Express support, switching IP/DHCP without having
to reboot in Win2000, system tray support environment and DUN
integration etc. Starting with mnm 6.1 it is possible to share
user profiles for multiple Windows NTx accounts.
Some of the new features in mnm 6.5 include WLan support, a powerful component for switching
custom registry entries and a robust Boot Time Application (BTA), not relying on GINA
technology. By design it does therefore not interfere with other applications such
as the Novell client, Cisco LEAP WLan client or Windows XP's Remote desktop switching
feature.
Increased accessibility at remote locations drastically reduces costs
associated with dial-up connections.
Within a company the IT support desk can initially feed the
application with company related settings, which at any later
time, easily can be restored.
Are You as a network admin tired of regularly having to reset
and correct the users configurations? By using the MultiNetwork
Manager you can pre configure the company's settings under separate
tabs. This reduces the need for costly and time consuming support.
mnm saves a lot of time and provides an intuitive interface
for the users. Excellent online help is available.
